Client:
Hi, my pH probe is causing me trouble. I'm trying to calibrate it, but I come nowhere near 7.0 when I put the probe in the pH 7.0 solution.
Technical Advisor:
Hi, please conduct this test: https://ph-redox-pool.com/gb/content/16-ma-sonde-ph-est-elle-hors-service-. From that test, you will know if the probe is working. The reason for that is a defective probe can show 7.0!
Client:
In the water it shows 8.5 and after vinegar it dropped to 4.8. My probe is 4 years old - can that be the problem?
Technical Advisor:
That does not look bad, but 8.6 is very high. Did you perform calibration?
Client:
I tried to but that's the problem. If I put the probe in the pH 7.0 bottle it only goes down to 7.9.
Technical Advisor:
Do you get a message during calibration?
Client:
No, nothing. The probe reacts very quickly but will not go down to 7.0, only 7.9.
Technical Advisor:
I think the calibration is not working because 8.6 is too far from so your device is not performing calibration. Sorry.
Client:
My device is an Orpheo X - can you assist in what to do?
Technical Advisor:
I think that you have to change the probe. Here is a link to a new one: https://ph-redox-pool.com/gb/ccei/54-pH-Probe-for-Orpheo-X.html. I do not see any other way.
Client:
Thanks.
